Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. While a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required, this position functions solely in the role of a Direct Support Professional, not as a nursing role.
The DSP supports individuals with daily living activities, community integration, and personal development while promoting independence, dignity, and safety in accordance with each individual’s Individual Service Plan (ISP) and organizational policies.
Responsibilities- Provide hands‑on support with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, and mobility.
- Assist individuals with community outings, social activities, and skill‑building.
- Follow and implement ISP goals and support strategies.
- Monitor health, safety, and well‑being and report changes appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Promote independence, choice, and respectful communication.
- Adhere to all agency policies, DBHDD guidelines, and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Active CNA certification (required).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
- Ability to follow care plans and provide person-centered support.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to pass background check and required trainings.
This position does not provide skilled nursing services. CNA credential is required to meet care needs and competency expectations. Employee will operate within the scope of a Direct Support Professional role.
