PRN Vascular Ultrasound Technologist

Overview

PRN hours with flexibility to work varied hours. Operates vascular US equipment to produce scans and physiologic equipment to generate plethysmographic and Doppler waveforms and segmental pressure data for diagnostic procedures in the Vascular Lab. Operates other medical equipment as needed and provides quality patient care during vascular procedures. May participate in complex procedures. Communicates and explains procedures to patients and families, processes paperwork, and manages supplies.

Assists in training vascular staff and students. Responsible for clinical patient care, assessment, appropriate examination, data analysis, and preliminary reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of ultrasound technology, vascular technology, or a cardiovascular program.
  • Two years of ultrasound experience, with at least one year in vascular technology.
  • Current registry certificate from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) (RVT, RVS or RT (VS) required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
Physical Requirements (Medium)
  • Lifting 50 lbs max, carrying objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional to frequent standing & walking, occasional sitting.
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing).
  • Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks.
Environmental Factors
  • Blood‑borne pathogen exposure, bio‑hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock.
  • Floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting.
  • Patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required.
  • Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators.
