We are currently seeking a caring and dependable candidate for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position who is attentive, positive, and able to pay close attention to small details and changes in individuals' conditions. A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a home health environment is a plus. Candidates must have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, focusing on autism spectrum and Down syndrome, as well as dementia.
ScheduleMonday – Friday: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am.
General Responsibilities- Lift up to 60 lbs, assist with bathing, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping.
- Type at least 35 words per minute, use data entry programs, promote self‑sufficiency, critical thinking, oral & written communication.
- Implement service plans, maintain infection control, provide basic first aid, CPR, and life support.
- Transport clients to medical appointments via provided vehicle or Uber.
- Pass a DBHDD fingerprint check for eligibility.
- Reliable transportation.
- Read and write.
- Follow verbal & written instructions.
- Complete written reports and documents.
- Use a computer & type quickly.
- Understand needs of elderly, handicapped, mentally retarded, disabled, or convalescing individuals.
- Meal preparation & serving.
- Transportation & escort services.
- Housekeeping, sanitation, home safety, emergency handling, and infection control.
- Bathing, routine skincare, grooming.
- Assistance with toileting, ambulation, transferring.
- Encourage physical activity.
- Apply first aid in case of sudden illness or accident.
- Remind client to take prescribed medications, supervise/oversee medication.
- Provide watchful supervision & oversight.
- Prepare meals, wash dishes.
- Assist client with grocery shopping, community activities, and ISP goals.
- Take vital signs, medically related activities.
- Participate in establishing & implementing the individual's service plan.
- Report problems & progress to physician & others as approved by the individual.
- 2+ years verifiable experience as a care provider.
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Clean background check.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current First Aid card.
- Current Physical.
- Current TB or Chest X-Ray.
- Valid GA Driver License.
- 7‑year Motor Vehicle Report.
- CNA qualification or ability to pass PSA test.
The Coordinator is in constant contact with the client, the public, and the community, and brings important issues before the Senior Coordinator and Administrative staff. Specialized training or one year of experience in working with a person with developmental disabilities. Must be committed to on‑going training once hired.
