Job DescriptionThe National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) is headquartered near the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is seeking to support an engagement for Government - Federal (USA) Sector Clients. NCEH, Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice (DEHSP), prevents exposures to environmental health hazards to improve the health of all people in all communities through applied environmental public health science and practice.
The mission of the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program is to provide information from a nationwide network of integrated health and environmental data that drives actions to improve community health. The Tracking Program is a multi-tiered, web-based system with components at national, state, and local levels. In collaboration with federal, state, and local partners, the Tracking Program identifies priority environmental health issues, determines surveillance questions, and evaluates the utility of existing data for addressing issues.
This Public Health Analyst II position aligns with the Senior Consultant Labor Category. Ideal candidates visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges while engaging in productive dialogue targeting mission success. Pro Sidian teams accomplish this mission by acquiring skilled talent for the Tracking Program with expertise in informatics, data science, bio-statistics, epidemiology, health education, and communication. The program also needs staff skilled in program development, strategic planning, evaluation, facilitation, partnerships, and project management.
Selected data are integrated into the Network to describe temporal and spatial disease trends, identify affected populations, generate hypotheses about health and environmental exposures, and support environmental public health policies and interventions. Data are translated into information for targeted audiences and disseminated through query panels, dashboards, info-graphics, and APIs.
The Public Health Analyst II has overall responsibility for contract activities: planning, organizing, directing, controlling, staffing, and reporting status, deliverables, and schedules to the Government. As task orders are issued, the Public Health Analyst II ensures deliverables meet budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Note:
a Public Health Analyst II may oversee several Task Orders at one time and provides technical assistance to support the Tracking Program. When data gaps are found, the Tracking Program collaborates with partners to develop data collection standards, data models, and methodologies to expand data utility.
The Public Health Analyst II facilitates and coordinates technical teams across functional areas: state and national public health data systems and standards; working with state health and environmental agencies; and dissemination strategies to key audiences. This includes organizing online meetings, developing agendas, providing virtual meeting support, facilitating meetings, and taking notes. It may include in-person meetings twice a year.
