ResponsibilitiesAs a Charge Nurse, coordinates daily activities and distribution of work in area during scheduled shift; as a Preceptor Nurse, acts as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence. The approximate amount of direct patient care is 80% and Charge‑Preceptor duties are 20%. The range of roles between Charge and Preceptor may vary depending on patient acuity and volume issues.
Works with a unit-specific patient population. Care and/or services will be provided to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This position sets priorities based on the situation and is a combination of direct patient care, management (charge), and education (preceptor) responsibilities with unit accountability during an eight (8) to twelve (12) hour shift.

Skills And Abilities
, License Or Certification Required
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations
- Must hold Certification in American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
Knowledge
Skills And Abilities
/License Or Certification Preferred
- BSN degree
- Two (2) years recent experience in current clinical specialty (i.e., critical care, surgical services, diabetes education, radiology, etc.)
- Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units
- Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units
