The Perinatal Center Non-Stress Testing Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, monitoring, and care of pregnant patients undergoing fetal surveillance in the form of non-stress testing. This nurse collaborates with the obstetric care team to ensure safe, high-quality care while maintaining a calm and supportive environment for expectant mothers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform and interpret Non-Stress Tests (NST) to evaluate fetal well-being.

* Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, documenting findings accurately and timely.

* Assess fetal movement, heart rate patterns, and uterine activity, escalating abnormal findings to the provider.

* Educate patients and families on NST procedures and results.

* Maintain and troubleshoot fetal monitoring equipment.

* Assist with additional antepartum testing or care as needed.

* Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.

* Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during testing.

* Document all care provided in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.

* Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality in all interactions.

Qualifications

* Associate Degree in Nursing is required.

* One (1) or more years Registered Nurse job related experience required.

* Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse is required.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

* ACLS Certification required for all the following areas. New Graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment:

§ All Critical Care

§ Emergency Care Center (ECC)

§ GI/Cath Laboratory

§ Labor & Delivery

§ All Intermediate Care

§ Post Acute Care Unit (PACU)
