6:45 a–7:15 p / PRN. Required to sign up for at least two shifts per four‑week schedule and to work at least one Emory Healthcare‑observed holiday annually.
OverviewAt Emory Healthcare (EHC), you will provide high‑quality respiratory care in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment. EHC is a leading Atlanta hospital network where teamwork, professional growth, and innovation are paramount.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations.
- Accurately document respiratory care using established charting procedures.
- Select, assemble, and inspect respiratory equipment for proper operation and cleanliness; perform minor repairs.
- Work with the manager to develop a professional development plan and attend relevant educational in‑services.
- Participate in professional activities and organizations to maintain current knowledge of respiratory therapy trends.
- Maintain and promote safety, security, and infection control practices.
- Possibly conduct in‑service educational programs related to respiratory care.
- Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) by the state of Georgia.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and/or NRP may be required for designated departments.
Medium: 20–50 lbs to be lifted 0–33 % of the work day (occasionally); 11–25 lbs 34–66 % (frequently); 0–10 lbs 67–100 % (constantly). Lifting up to 50 lbs max. Carrying objects up to 25 lbs. Standing, walking, sitting, close eye work, and other physical demands may vary by task.
Environmental FactorsExposure to blood‑borne pathogens, bio‑hazardous waste, chemicals, gases, fumes, vapors, communicable diseases, electric shock, floor surfaces, temperature extremes, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care injuries, radiation, shift work, and travel may occur. Personal protective equipment, including respirators, will be required depending on work area.
