The RN Clinician at Emory Decatur Hospital is an experienced healthcare professional responsible for delivering safe, effective, and personalized patient care based on the AACN Synergy Model for Patient Care. They serve as a resource for colleagues and advocate for patients and families.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Practice & Patient Care- Provide safe, effective nursing care using the nursing process
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop care plans
- Document care accurately in electronic and physical records
- Recognize and address patient and family learning needs
- Individualize care considering cultural differences
- Delegate appropriately using the Synergy Model
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families
- Take on leadership roles, including Charge Nurse responsibilities when assigned
- Assist in orienting staff and students
- Demonstrate strong communication skills
- Identify policy improvement opportunities based on evidence
- Engage in professional growth and apply the Synergy Model
- Collect and analyze data to improve patient outcomes
- Participate in surveys and improvement initiatives
- Maintain required contact hours and points
Education / Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited BSN program and at least 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, or recent completion of a re-entry program
OR
- Graduate of an accredited ADN program with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- Current LPNs at Emory Healthcare who complete an RN program and obtain licensure can transition into this role while completing the RN Resident Program
- Emory LPNs enrolled in an ADN program must sign an obligation to complete their BSN within two years of entering this role
- Valid, unencumbered Georgia RN license
- BLS certification; ACLS may be required depending on department
