Position: CRNA / CAA - Emory Cardiac Team

Overview

The Cardiac Anesthetist Team at Emory University Hospital (EUH) & Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) seeks Anesthetists – Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA). The role is full‑time or part‑time, on a rotating schedule with call.

Responsibilities
  • Assist an anesthesiologist in the administration of general and regional anesthesia for surgical and non‑surgical procedures.
  • Perform initial acute cardiopulmonary resuscitation and manage pre‑ and post‑anesthetic care, including ventilator support.
  • Monitor patients with ECG, arterial pressure, central venous pressure, and other optional monitoring devices.
  • Document patient physiological status and assist in gathering routine pre‑operative data.
  • Participate in clinical research projects and supervise student anesthetists.
Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited CRNA or CAA master’s program.
  • Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.
  • Certified by NBCRNA or NCCAA.
  • Maintain biannual certification through continuing medical education credits.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Physical Requirements

Occasional to frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting; close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing). Lifting up to 50 lbs max; carrying objects up to 25 lbs.

Environmental Factors

Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals, electrical shock, floor surfaces, temperature extremes, near‑patient handling injuries, radiation. Shift work and travel may be required. Personal protective equipment, including respirators, is used.
