Job Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of Vans Controlling within Customer Services & Parts (CSP) and will support the Controlling activities for the Fleet business ponsibilities include handling ad‑hoc analysis requests from the CSP Vans and Fleet business units, Executive Management, and MB AG Controlling. The role will support the Planning team during major planning cycles by completing the required submissions for CSP and Fleet.

This position carries significant responsibility and provides substantial exposure to Senior and Executive Management. The analyses, recommendations, and insights produced in this role will directly inform strategic planning for internal leadership and MB AG headquarters. Responsibilities
  • Lead planning‑related reporting activities across corporate and local functions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data from IMPACT and VICTOR. Provide clear, insight‑driven analysis of deviations affecting CSP and Fleet performance, enabling informed decision‑making across the business.
  • Conduct advanced analyses of Fleet profitability and discount structures, partnering with stakeholders to identify root causes of performance gaps and develop targeted actions that strengthen the Fleet segment.
  • Build and maintain transparency on Fleet volume and financial performance by developing reporting frameworks that support long‑term planning and executive visibility.
  • Drive large, cross‑functional initiatives with MB AG, MBUSA leadership, and market teams to optimize CSP profitability and net revenue. Balance corporate targets with market dynamics by shaping recommendations that influence broader organizational priorities.
  • Partner with the Head of Finance & Controlling for MB Vans to develop and track strategic initiatives related to Mercedes me connectivity and broader digital connectivity topics, ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
  • Deliver high‑quality, flexible ad hoc analyses that support executive decision‑making, strategic planning, and emerging business priorities.
  • Serve as the Controlling team’s key user for accounting and reporting systems, ensuring full compliance with internal controls and accurate reflection of financial results.
  • Oversee the monthly CSP profitability reporting cycle, delivering high‑quality analysis of net revenue, SCII, and planning period deviations. Highlight trends, structural shifts, risks, and opportunities that shape strategic direction.
  • Assess and enhance Controlling processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Lead efforts to solve complex operational and financial challenges that impact multiple functions.
  • Lead analysis and preparation activities during major financial planning cycles—including Forecasts and the Mercedes‑Benz Business Plan—ensuring CSP and Fleet considerations fully integrated and aligned with corporate objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years related experience OR equivalent related work experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Proficient knowledge of internal controls, recording and reporting of financial transactions, including the origination of the transaction, its recognition, processing, and summarization in the financial statements.
  • In‑depth knowledge and understanding of the implications of key financial indicators and controls and assessing impact of financial information.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization.
