Controller – Heavy Civil/Sitework (South Atlanta, GA)

Oversee and manage all financial operations for heavy civil and sitework projects, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. Ensure financial integrity while supporting organizational decision-making and long-term growth.

Established heavy civil and sitework contractor specializing in grading, underground utilities, paving, and complete site development projects.

• Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close
• Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts
• Develop budgets and track project performance to support cost control and profitability
• Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Supervise audits and ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirements
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement

• 5+ years of accounting or financial management experience, preferably in construction or contracting
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Hands‑on experience managing general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
• Required experience with Sage 100
  ; proficiency in other accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• On‑site presence in Newnan, GA required
