Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Risk Control Analyst to support large capital projects by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating project risks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with project risk registers, the ability to lead and facilitate risk discussions, and a strong command of data-driven risk reporting and compliance. Must have construction, power plant or nuclear experience.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- 4–8 years of experience in the energy/utility industry or related large capital project risk management.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong attention to detail and a proven track record of accurate reporting.
- Proficient in facilitating risk meetings and collaborating across project teams.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience working with large capital project risk registers.
- Ability to facilitate various types of project risk meetings.
- Familiarity with Power BI (intermediate proficiency preferred).
- Familiarity with risk analysis software/tools (e.g., Primavera Risk Analysis, @RISK, etc.).
- Must have experience in the construction, power plant or nuclear industries
- Risk Identification & Assessment:
Evaluate potential project risks affecting cost, schedule, and quality. - Mitigation Strategy Development:
Partner with project teams to formulate and implement mitigation strategies. - Risk Register Management:
Maintain and continuously update the project risk register, reflecting new risks, changes in status, and mitigation steps. - Monitoring & Adjustment:
Track and analyze the effectiveness of mitigation plans and make recommendations for improvement. - Reporting:
Prepare and present clear and concise risk reports to stakeholders and leadership. - Collaboration:
Work directly with project managers, engineers, and other team members to identify and manage project risks. - Compliance Assurance:
Ensure all risk management practices align with internal standards and regulatory requirements. - Financial Risk Analysis:
Analyze financial trends within project data to detect emerging risks.
- Experience conducting probabilistic risk analysis using commercial risk software.
- Power BI – intermediate proficiency or higher.
