Position Summary

The Morehouse College Division of Business and Economics (BE) seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance, to commence Fall 2026. This position will support undergraduate teaching and research in the finance concentration and contribute to service that supports the divisional mission of developing purpose-driven business leaders. We especially encourage applications from advanced assistant professors and from candidates who have an interest in future academic leadership roles within the Division.

While all finance areas will be considered, those with a background in investments, asset management, real estate finance are encouraged to apply.

Division and Department Summary

The BE Division is accredited by AACSB and is the largest division at Morehouse College, serving more than 1000 students. There are two departments within the Division:
Business Administration and Economics. The Department of Business Administration offers the BABA degree with four concentrations including accounting, finance, management, and marketing. Minors include accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship, and sales. Finance is the largest and is a top program within the division.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Successful candidates should have an active research portfolio, be prepared to actively engage in service to the division and College, and be willing and able to engage with a diverse student population.

This position may include teaching across areas such as investments, valuation and modeling, corporate finance, and/or upper-level finance electives. A secondary area of teaching in real estate is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

a research-based Ph.D. degree in Finance from a full-time, AACSB-accredited institution. Degree must be conferred by start of Fall 2026. Candidates from institutions without AACSB accreditation will not be considered.
