We have been engaged by a growth‑oriented public company in Atlanta to identify the right Financial Reporting & Systems Manager to join its finance organization. This is a high‑impact role that blends external reporting leadership with ownership of core finance systems. The position is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys operating both strategically and tactically in a dynamic, lean environment.

Position OverviewThis role sits at the intersection of SEC reporting, technical accounting, and finance technology. Approximately 70% of the role is focused on financial reporting and compliance, with the remaining 30% centered on finance systems administration, report development, and optimization. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the integrity and timeliness of external reporting while also serving as the internal expert on key financial platforms.
This individual will help strengthen processes, enhance reporting visibility through dashboards and analytics, and ensure the company remains audit‑ready at all times.
- Lead preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings, earnings materials, and related disclosures.
- Maintain strong internal controls aligned with GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Support equity‑related filings and proxy reporting activities.
- Research and operationalize new accounting pronouncements and provide guidance on complex transactions.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit cycles.
- Serve as the primary administrator for core financial systems, including SEC reporting platforms and ERP tools.
- Manage system upgrades, integrations, reconciliations, and troubleshooting.
- Drive enhancements to reporting workflows, internal controls, and data integrity.
- Build and refine financial dashboards and reporting snapshots to improve executive visibility into company performance.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with IT and operational teams to resolve system and process issues.
- 4‑6+ years of relevant experience in SEC reporting and financial reporting, ideally within a public company or auditing public companies.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal control frameworks.
- CPA designation.
- Hands‑on experience with Workiva (strongly preferred; alternative SEC reporting systems considered).
- Experience with technical accounting.
- Systems‑oriented mindset with the ability to take ownership and lead improvements.
- Net Suite and Black Line experience.
- Background in public accounting (Big 4 experience welcomed) or robust public company financial reporting experience.
