RoleSummary
We are seeking a Sr. Cost Accounting Analyst/Accountant to own day‑to‑day cost accounting operations and deliver timely, accurate insights that drive pricing, resource allocation, and profitability while ensuring compliance with GAAP. This is a high‑visibility role with runway for growth, created as part of a succession plan and designed to develop into broader leadership responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities- Lead month‑end close activities: prepare journal entries, reconcile overhead and GL accounts, and ensure GAAP‑compliant reporting.
- Manage and maintain computerized standard cost and inventory systems to deliver accurate product costing and timely financial information.
- Analyze cost changes (quarterly pricing, schedules, raw materials, labor, overhead, and manufacturing methods) to support pricing strategies and business decisions.
- Partner with operations (including liquid products teams) to monitor performance and conduct line performance analyses focused on yield, efficiency, and scrap reduction.
- Support budgeting and capital planning; validate proposed projects, ensure alignment with policies, and assess financial feasibility.
- Conduct special projects and feasibility studies for new products, services, or methods to understand cost structure and revenue impact.
- Investigate account discrepancies; perform GL reconciliations and drive issue resolution with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Develop clear reporting, insights, and recommendations that quantify cost‑saving initiatives into real dollars and track performance against targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Cost Accounting (required); strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- 2–4 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

, and variance analysis; ability to manage computerized inventory systems (AS/400 experience preferred). - Proven ability to conduct pricing and budgeting analyses; familiarity with capital budgeting concepts and procedures.
- Technical skills:
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, modeling) required; exposure to BI tools and D365 is a plus. - Demonstrated capability to perform line performance

Job Title: Sr. Cost Accounting Analyst/Accountant

Location: Atlanta Metropolitan Area
Base Pay: $75,000–$95,000 per year
Bonus: 7% target (up to 10.5% with EBITA)
Car Allowance: $200/month
