Company - Our client is a best in class privately held manufacturing and installation company providing the highest quality fabrication and installation for Commercial, Industrial and Residential customers throughout the U.S. They have gone through exponential growth year over year for the last five years and are a mature, vertically integrated company.
Role - Vice President of Accounting & Finance
Responsible for managing the General accounting functions
- Training/Supervision of all accounting tasks, such as payroll and accounts payable processing, sales tax report preparation, general ledger and financial statement preparation, monthly and year-end closing, account reconciliations and depreciation schedule preparation
- Responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting
- Review and manage the month end close process
- Support and facilitation of budget/forecast activities
- Develop new processes within accounting function to streamline deliverables, monthly reporting activities and create efficiencies throughout department
- Work closely with outside CPA on tax reporting, annual audit, etc.
- Provide monthly and ad hoc reporting and analysis, analyze budget variances, and provide insightful analysis and cost-saving / profitability recommendations
- Support Senior Management’s decision-making process by managing the analysis and reporting around key business drivers, including revenue, cash, gross margin, expenses, capital expenditures and inventory
- Provide leadership and direction to the Accounting and related Administration departments
Formulate and administer approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports timely and accurately reflect the condition of the business
- Monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Maintain controls for the financial processes
- Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques
- Develop and implement best-in-class policies and procedures
- Leads and maintains accounting/internal controls to sustain financial security
Interact heavily with the organization’s management team to effect change, improve upon processes and take on special projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Vista/Viewpoint, or similar general ledger software package desired
- The ability to effectively interact with clients, partners, and fellow team members
- At least 7-10 years of experience, 5 plus years in a supervisory role is a must (experience includes training and mentoring)
- Ability to work independently and follow tasks through to completion
- Construction, Manufacturing or Engineering industry experience (preferred)
- Job costing, WIP, or percentage to completion experience preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication, written and oral, and interpersonal skills are required to deal effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, contractors
