We are looking for a skilled Tax Analyst to join our team on a contract basis in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, you will focus on resolving payroll tax-related issues, cleaning up tax accounts, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in tax compliance and payroll processes while contributing to critical clean-up efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Address and resolve outstanding payroll tax issues, including notices and late filings.
- Contact state agencies to reinstate or close accounts as needed.
- Perform account access recovery and ensure proper account management.
- Manage zero filings and streamline processes to reduce unnecessary workload.
- Utilize ADP Smart Compliance to perform payroll tax-related tasks efficiently.
- Conduct data analysis using advanced Excel functions such as vlookups and pivot tables.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Audit and document payroll tax processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with state agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain organized documentation of tax-related activities for record-keeping purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll tax compliance and reporting.
- Proficiency in ADP Smart Compliance or similar payroll systems.
- Advanced Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables.
- Strong understanding of tax compliance processes and regulations.
- Ability to manage account reinstatements and closures effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with state agencies.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Previous experience in accounting, auditing, or related functions preferred.
