The RoleTax Services Associates serve as members of client service teams and gain exposure to a broad spectrum of service lines, including Private Client Services, Commercial Federal, and Mergers & Acquisitions. Associates receive formal and on-the-job training to hone technical skills. In addition to the preparation of tax returns, associates participate in the tax planning and consultation process for clients. They work as part of a team of problem solvers with vast consulting and industry experience to help clients solve complex business issues.
Responsibilities- Researching tax laws, rules, and regulations and analyzing their application to specific situations, resulting in drafting memorandums to defend decisions and/or outlining solutions.
- Participating in select phases of tax compliance engagements.
- Proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback.
- Supporting select projects demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative while working as a team member.
- Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree; or an advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD or LLM.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong leadership, multitasking and organizational skills.
- Self-starter with initiative to seek opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with various levels of client and firm management through written and verbal communication.
- Prior to starting full-time, eligibility to sit for the primary credential exam appropriate for relevant practice area (e.g., CPA exam with 150 credits hours in certain states).
