Overview

The Commercial Community Bank Lending Process Manager II drives the end-to-end lending process of the Commercial Community Bank in partnership with Bankers on their Centralized Lending Unit Portfolio. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, new deal review and advising prior to submission to the Centralized Lending Unit; preliminary review of clients’ submitted financial statements for new requests and annual renewals;

ensuring Centralized Lending Unit loan package submission accuracy and completeness; following loan packages through the Centralized Lending Unit to facilitate an efficient process and positive client experience; client engagement; and post-approval engagement with the client and Commercial Fulfillment/Complex Commercial Lending. The Lending Process Manager II provides Centralized Lending Unit process guidance for Bankers and mentors Lending Process Managers as assigned by management.

Advise Bankers on potential deal structures (policy and guidelines alignment). Remain current on policy, guidelines, and procedures as they evolve. Work closely with the Banker to understand the borrower’s needs and advise on policy and guidelines. Develop subject matter expertise in this space. Own the submission of the loan opportunity to the Centralized Lending Unit, including Salesforce setup and ensuring all required financials and documentation for the request are complete and accurate, with a goal of limited to no pended opportunities.

Address and mitigate any process issues during submission and pre-approval in partnership with Bankers. Clearly communicate resolution of issues in the submission process. Monitor the end-to-end process of each request as it moves through the Centralized Lending Unit and Commercial Fulfillment/Complex Commercial Lending. Be a critical deal team member in all communications with the Banker and the Centralized Lending Unit to ensure the opportunity continues to flow through the end-to-end process.

Serve as the internal critical point to prevent extended response times to the client. Review Maturity reports with the Centralized Lending Unit to address renewals in advance of their maturity, ensuring a strong client experience and proper risk management. Engage with clients to navigate the collection of all pertinent information needed for Centralized Lending Unit submission. Engage with clients and prospects through the entire lending process while upholding Truist’s client experience goals.

Order appraisals, environmental and flood documentation in partnership with the Commercial Closing Specialist. Manage required documentation in the pre-closing phase. Obtain documentation required for closing, such as proof of insurance and entity legal documentation, in partnership with the Commercial Credit Specialist. Review prepared loan documents against the approved credit package prior to client execution. Advise Bankers with minimal Truist process and systems experience on Centralized Lending Unit credit process and engagement.

Manage a larger pipeline workload and/or more complex credit requests or borrower structures. Mentor junior Lending Process Managers and provide guidance and training as appropriate. Support the sales process and portfolio growth through referral opportunities using internal resources and data. Partner with Bankers to identify client needs observed through client contact or financial statement review.

Washington, DC Applicants: the annual base salary range for this position is $89,590 – $161,260.

Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Banker, Commercial Credit Specialist, or related work experience.
  • Understanding of general credit to clearly articulate credit-related questions and request correct information from the client.
  • Understanding of required financial information and documentation necessary to process each loan from intake to closing.
  • Strong interpersonal and professional written communication skills, both internally and externally.
