Providence Staffing’s client, a well-established and growing personal injury law firm
, is seeking a best-in-class Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the firm’s financial strategy and operations in Atlanta, GA. This executive-level leader will provide accurate, timely financial data, strategic insights, and risk management oversight while partnering closely with ownership and executive leadership to support long-term growth and profitability.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader with experience in professional services or legal environments, who understands contingency-based revenue models and is eager to be part of a high-performing, growth-oriented firm.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy- Oversee all finance and accounting operations of the law firm.
- Provide strategic financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting to support firm growth.
- Develop financial models related to case valuation, settlement timing, and cash flow forecasting.
- Advise executive leadership on financial implications of business decisions and expansion initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations.
- Oversee trust accounting (IOLTA), settlement accounting, and case-related disbursements.
- Manage internal controls, audits, and financial reporting processes.
- Oversee tax planning, filings, and coordination with external CPAs and auditors.
- Monitor and manage financial risk, including case costs, expenses, and contingent liabilities.
- Manage firm cash flow, including forecasting settlement inflows and operational expenses.
- Oversee banking relationships, lines of credit, and access to capital as needed.
- Ensure appropriate liquidity to support payroll, marketing spend, and case costs.
- Provide ongoing analysis of revenue trends and expense management.
- Prepare and present financial reports to ownership and executive leadership.
- Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Managing Partner and leadership team.
- Oversee benefits administration, including 401(k) reviews, healthcare renewals, and business insurance.
- Manage relationships with payroll providers, benefits brokers, banks, and financial vendors.
- Support HR leadership with compensation planning and financial benchmarking.
- 5+ years of experience as a CFO or senior financial leader within a law firm or professional services organization (personal injury experience strongly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of contingency-fee revenue models and legal financial operations.
- Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
- CPA is a plus but not required.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications and will be competitive for the Atlanta market.
