bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, supplemented by two years of experience in performing treasury duties to include accounts receivable, cash management, and completing transactional and informational reports; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

specific knowledge, skills, or abilities: must have an understanding of cash flow forecasting, investment tracking, and debt service management within a public sector framework. A focus on customer service and details. Ability to perform banking duties, accounts receivable duties, reconcile cash positions, and ensure compliance with treasury policies and bond covenants, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
examinationthe examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience accomplished by analysis of the application. purpose of classificationthe purpose of this classification is to perform accounting duties requiring independent judgment across multiple financial divisions, including pension, employee benefits, treasury, accounts payable, and general accounting. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts, monitoring account budget status, completing transactional and informational reports, and performing administrative duties related to division-specific operations. This classification is distinguished from accountant ii in that this classification performs operational accounting duties and has responsibility for reconciling and monitoring accounts across assigned divisions, whereas the latter additionally prepares financial reports covering substantial county resources and supports strategic fiscal analysis.
