Overview

This role supports the processing of Global Trade & Standby Services (GTSS) and Foreign Exchange (FX) banking products throughout the full transaction life cycle. The position plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across a variety of trade and payment activities.

You will handle products such as Import/Export Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Banker’s Acceptances, and Standby Letters of Credit, as well as FX services including International Payments, Settlements, and Investigations. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with internal partners, Relationship Managers, clients, beneficiaries, and IT.

This team also serves as a problem‑resolution group—verifying system setup, identifying issues, recalculating fees, correcting payment terms, and ensuring future transactions process accurately. Strong critical thinking and customer‑facing communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Support the processing of GTSS and FX transactions at various stages of the trade life cycle.
  • Review, execute, and reconcile trade transactions, payments, settlements, and related documentation.
  • Verify transactional completeness and accuracy in alignment with service levels, policies, terms, and procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, materials, and approvals are in place before processing or releasing transactions.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies, including incorrect system setups, fee calculations, or payment terms.
  • Partner with IT to troubleshoot system issues and support long‑term solutions.
  • Communicate with clients regarding outstanding items, invoice clarification, and payment‑related questions.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and internal teams to validate calculations, prepare Excel templates, and support client needs.
For Standby Letters of Credit
  • Ensure regulatory and credit approvals are obtained prior to issuance processing or release.
  • Examine documents for compliance with LC terms.
  • Work with RMs, clients, beneficiaries, and internal/external Counsel to structure and finalize complex SBLCs.
  • Advise management on developments that may impact processes or departmental operations.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of specific international banking products, payment services, foreign exchange and general bank operating policies and procedures
  • Strong problem‑solving and client servicing skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve/escalate complex problems with minimal guidance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office and Excel applications
Location expectations

This role requires working from a U.S Bank location three (3) or more days per week. Must reside in or near Saint Paul, MN, Atlanta, GA or Gresham, OR.
