RoleSummary
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing Affordable Housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable and current regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct review of Affordable Housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws.
- Review files based on information presented by applicants and ensure review within 24 hours of receipt.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.
- Monitor changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implement modifications as indicated.
- Attend TDHCA trainings annually; complete HCCP training within the first two years of employment and achieve a passing score to receive the HCCP designation.
- Participate in all tax credit reviews by outside entities.
- Travel: estimated 50% of work time annually for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business-related activities.
- Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach.
- Strong computer literacy, including Real Page One Site Tax Credit software.
- Housing Credit Certified Professional certification a plus. If not certified, attend HCCP training within first 2 years and pass the exam.
- Knowledge of the HUD program is a plus.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
