Senior Compliance Specialist, Affordable Housing Company Overview

Role

Summary

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing Affordable Housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable and current regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct review of Affordable Housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws.
  • Review files based on information presented by applicants and ensure review within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.
  • Monitor changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implement modifications as indicated.
  • Attend TDHCA trainings annually; complete HCCP training within the first two years of employment and achieve a passing score to receive the HCCP designation.
  • Participate in all tax credit reviews by outside entities.
  • Travel: estimated 50% of work time annually for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business-related activities.
Education & Experience
  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Real Page One Site Tax Credit software.
  • Housing Credit Certified Professional certification a plus. If not certified, attend HCCP training within first 2 years and pass the exam.
  • Knowledge of the HUD program is a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
