This position reports to the Director of Brand Finance for the Writing segment and will partner with the brand development team, sales planning, and operations finance teams to drive profitable growth for the business. The role serves as the brand finance lead for the Expo Brand, providing enhanced business partnering via financial insights that guide choices and decisions. It also supports the new‑product development process, focusing on cost and profitability of new product launches.
The applicant should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, flexible environment and be able to work across teams effectively.
- Lead long‑range business & financial planning focused on profitable growth, brand strategy & new product development.
- Support the Tier 1 & 2 new‑product development process, including approval stage gates, take ownership for financial projections, actively manage the product lifecycle with business partners, and perform post‑mortem analysis.
- Attend project update meetings, brand demand reviews, innovation & gate meetings as the finance spokesperson, helping define opportunities and highlight risks that could impact the Expo business.
- Support preparation of brand corporate deliverables such as the monthly brand letter and the bi‑annual innovation review.
- Understand sales & profitability across the Expo portfolio of categories, products, and customers.
- Understand competition exceptionally well (pricing, cost structure and market tactics).
- Provide financial evaluation and approval of price and promotional cadence (depth, frequency, and accrual rates to deliver revenue). Optimize U.S. commercialization activities with sales and sales planning.
- Proactively own, identify, and solve issues.
- Complete other ad‑hoc analysis in support of all Writing brands as needed.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance.
- CPA desired.
- 10 to 12 years of experience in finance/accounting, preferably in a Consumer‑Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
- Significant experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
