** Job Summary
** The Director of Collateral Risk & Collections is responsible for safeguarding the company’s secured position across the premium finance portfolio and leading all strategies related to collateral management, delinquency control, loss mitigation, and collections. This leader ensures that collateral is accurately monitored, risks are proactively identified, and collections outcomes are optimized while maintaining strong regulatory and operational discipline. The role requires deep expertise in secured lending, insurance premium finance, and portfolio risk management.

** Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
*** Serves as a true thought partner, along with members of senior leadership.
* Engages with senior management team to formulate and execute division strategy.
* Scales teams and infrastructure to support rapid business growth.
* Drives decisions regarding allocation of talent, value of proposed projects, and effectiveness of growth, collateral, and risk performance.
* Oversees end‑to‑end collateral oversight, ensuring financed policies maintain sufficient unearned premium and remain compliant with carrier and regulatory requirements.
* Monitors policy status, endorsements, cancellations, and return premium activity to protect the company’s secured position.
* Ensures timely and accurate issuance of cancellation notices and coordinate with carriers to execute cancellations and validate return premiums.
* Implements controls and workflows that prevent collateral erosion and ensure early identification of at‑risk accounts.
* Partners with brokers, agents, and carriers to resolve discrepancies and maintain strong collateral integrity.
* Analyzes delinquency trends and systemic issues impacting collateral sufficiency or collections performance.
* Leads root‑cause analysis on charge‑offs, cancellations, and collateral shortfalls, recommending corrective actions and long‑term improvements.
* Works with technology team to develop and maintain dashboards and reporting that track collateral sufficiency, cancellation timeliness, collection rates, and portfolio exposure.
* Lead all collections operations, including late‑stage collections, agency placements, legal escalation, and settlement strategies.
* Develops and optimizes collections workflows to maximize return premium capture and minimize charge‑offs.
* Manages relationships with external collections partners, legal counsel, and collection agencies to ensure performance and compliance.
* Oversees dispute resolution, escalations, and complex collections cases requiring cross‑functional coordination.
* Builds and leads a high‑performing team responsible for collateral monitoring, delinquency management, and collections.
* Establishes performance standards, KPIs, and quality controls across all collateral and collections processes.
* Drives operational efficiency through automation, workflow optimization, and data‑driven decision‑making.
