Job DescriptionThe Senior Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for providing timely and accurate support of multi‑state payroll tax related activities. The role requires partnering with internal colleagues, clients, and customers to resolve case creation/closure and Service Orders, handling case inquiries, email and phone queue support, and executive communication regarding payroll tax compliance, reporting, and W‑2 support.
Responsibilities- Partners with internal colleagues / clients / customers to resolve case creation/closure and Service Orders
- Case inquiries and follow up, email support and phone queue support
- Resolves moderate complexity, high volume tasks related to workflow, as assigned
- Communicates internally with colleagues and externally via client cases, email and telephone as primary customer support for Payroll Tax Compliance, Reporting, and W2 support
- Works proficiently in Salesforce to document customer inquiries and resolution
- Processes various data related tasks within the Payroll Tax organization such as payments, reports, check requests, registrations, and filings.
- Escalates identified customer concerns or tax changes to leadership
- Helps support newer Specialists as a SME.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- General education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training required
- Typically 4 or more years Payroll tax experience required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, quality work product (Intermediate proficiency)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Intermediate proficiency)
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills (Intermediate proficiency)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate proficiency)
- Proficient understanding of US payroll tax including federal, state, and local laws and regulations (Intermediate proficiency)
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality (Intermediate proficiency)
- High commitment to professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace (Intermediate proficiency)
- Ability to follow established procedures in a timely manner (Intermediate proficiency)
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) – APA preferred
- Fundamental Payroll Certificate preferred

The preferred location for this role is Atlanta, GA. Salary range is $52,499.20 to $89,294.40. All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in‑office role based in Atlanta. All qualified internal candidates are encouraged
