Our client, a leading organization in the financial services sector, is seeking a Director of Credit & Asset Management to lead a senior team overseeing complex commercial real estate debt assets for a sophisticated institutional client base.
This high-impact leadership role offers the opportunity to drive portfolio strategy at scale while partnering closely with banks, insurance companies, private equity firms, and real estate investment platforms.
Position OverviewThe Director will lead a team of asset managers and analysts responsible for transitional and non-stabilized commercial real estate loans, including assets in construction, renovation, and repositioning phases. This role plays a critical part in delivering strong risk management outcomes and maintaining the firm’s reputation for excellence in client service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for a portfolio of complex CRE debt assets
- Develop and execute asset management strategies for structured and transitional loan portfolios
- Serve as a senior advisor on valuation, due diligence, and credit risk matters
- Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients and key stakeholders
- Coordinate effectively with borrowers, lenders, legal counsel, and third-party service providers
- Deliver comprehensive portfolio performance and risk reports to senior leadership and clients
- Oversee P&L responsibilities, budgeting, and cost management
- Lead talent development, performance management, and succession planning
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field
- 15+ years of experience managing commercial real estate debt assets
- 10+ years leading teams with a strong record of mentorship and results
- Proven P&L ownership and financial leadership
- Strong background in valuation, underwriting, and credit risk strategy
- Advanced skills in ARGUS, Excel, and financial modeling
- Well-connected within the CRE and financial services ecosystem
