Overview

This role exists to support the Family Enterprise. The role combines expertise in tax strategy, compliance, and reporting, that often requires an understanding of complex family structures, trusts, and wealth management. A successful candidate must be comfortable giving advice to both Owners and Senior Leader Leadership. This is a professional role, and the individual must possess a servant’s heart.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare individual, partnership, S corporation, trust, nonprofit, gift, sales and use, and property tax returns.
  • Responsible for tax planning and strategy for approximately 30 individuals and growing, 70 trusts and multiple entities by advising on tax implications related to family investments, real estate holdings, business transactions, and philanthropic activities.
  • General understanding of the complexities of multigenerational/privately held family business.
  • Manage tax obligations by monitoring monthly with holdings and calculations for estimated tax payments throughout the year.
  • Stay current on changes in federal, state, and international tax laws that may impact the family office’s tax strategy. Advise senior management on new tax laws, regulations, and opportunities for tax planning.
  • Capability to provide head of tax, proactive tax planning opportunities that support Family Investment and Cashflow goals.
  • Assist with correspondence on IRS audits, notices or other related inquiries.
  • Manage relationships with outside accounting firms, tax credit brokers, and additional parties.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Tax
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Certified Public Accountant
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience in Family Office Environment
