Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing Affordable Housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable and current regulatory requirements.

  • Review of Affordable Housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws.
  • Review files based on information presented by the applicants and ensure review is completed within 24 hours of receiving.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.
  • Monitor changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implement modifications as indicated.
  • Attend TDHCA trainings annually. Complete HCCP training within the first two years of employment and obtain a passing score on the exam to receive the HCCP designation.
  • Participate in all tax credit reviews by outside entities.
  • Travel Requirement:
    This position entails travel, estimated at 50% of work time annually. Travel may be for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business‑related activities.

Education & Experience

  • Strong organizational skills and a detail‑oriented approach.
  • Strong computer literacy skills are essential, including Real Page Onesite Tax Credit software.
  • Housing Credit Certified Professional certification is a plus. If not already certified, attend HCCP training within the first two years of employment and obtain a passing score on the exam.
  • Knowledge of the HUD program is a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
