Director of Finance – U.S. RoleBased in the new U.S. head office in Atlanta, Georgia, the Director of Finance – U.S. will report directly to the Executive Vice President of Finance, NA, and have a dotted‑line relationship to the two Presidents of the U.S. Regions. This role will lead the development of a centralized finance function for all five U.S. businesses, aligning closely with North American finance operations.
Responsibilities- Build structure and drive standardization during organizational transformation.
- Integrate new acquisitions from both people and process perspectives.
- Serve as the key conduit between regional and North American finance leadership.
- Ensure alignment across jurisdictions and develop consistent policies, processes, and systems.
- Support operational optimization initiatives and drive performance improvements.
- Simplify finance operations, integrate legacy teams, and build a unified, high‑performing function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee all compliance matters related to tax, federal and state regulations, and financial reporting in various jurisdictions.
- Act as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights and support in decision‑making.
- Collaborate with senior leadership stakeholders, ensuring alignment with financial performance goals, reporting requirements, and growth strategies.
- Implement and monitor compliance with internal controls (including segregation of duties), policies, and procedures to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities across the U.S. business units to drive profitability and growth.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and systems, implementing technological solutions as needed.
- Prepare financial presentations and reports for executive leadership.
- Monitor key financial metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Work closely with operational leaders to optimize costs and drive efficiency across the organization.
- Manage cash flow across several entities, tracking performance compared to KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with debt covenants, and treasury functions.
- Build and scale a high‑performing finance team as the company grows.

- The ideal candidate holds an undergraduate degree and a CPA designation, combined with 10+ years of progressive senior financial leadership experience. This experience should include strong financial reporting expertise, ideally gained in the construction industry or an adjacent and similarly complex sector, with a solid understanding of job costing.
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills, with experience managing remote and hybrid teams across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead with both compassion and conviction; able to support people through change while making timely decisions and moving initiatives forward.
- Proven track record of building rapport and credibility across business units, especially with Managing Directors and senior operational leaders.
- Naturally curious and hands‑on; comfortable digging into the numbers, questioning inconsistencies, and pushing for clarity when information is lacking.
- Experienced in managing change through organizational restructuring, with a strong ability to unify legacy teams and elevate financial operations.
- Solid technical grounding in accounting principles (USGAAP & IFRS), compliance, and internal controls.
- Familiarity with project accounting, job costing, and multi‑stream finance models (e.g. inventory/distribution, services, and contracting).
