Macdonald & Company has been exclusively retained by a privately held, growth-oriented real estate investment and development firm to appoint a Financial Controller to lead all accounting and finance functions across the organization.

• Manage general ledger and financial records for multiple entities, including oversight of third-party accounting providers.
• Lead accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies; liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Consolidate financial statements for internal and investor reporting; coordinate with audit and tax teams.
• Manage corporate budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making.
• Oversee investor capital accounts, preferred return calculations, and investor reporting.
• Provide financial oversight on acquisitions, dispositions, and development transactions, including due diligence support.
• Handle property-level reporting, reconciliations, and financial compliance requirements.
• Lead annual budgeting, projection, and reporting cycles.
• Oversee payroll processing and coordinate with HR on benefits administration and compensation analysis.
• Evaluate, implement, and integrate accounting systems and process improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree a plus.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the real estate sector.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; exposure to tax matters advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with real estate accounting software.
