For the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Education events within and outside Symphony Hall, the Senior Stage Manager oversees the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective day-to-day production of orchestra operations. With the Director of Production, Assistant General Manager, Artistic & Operations staff, and Education department staff, they lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of orchestra concert production activities, including, but not limited to, coordination of instruments and equipment, staging and technical needs, and orchestra logistics.

The Senior Stage Manager works closely with the Stage Manager to coordinate shared resources, balance the needs of the ASO, ASO subsidiaries, and other internal constituent groups, and strategically utilize the venue to generate earned revenue opportunities, such as non-orchestra presentations and hall rentals.

POSITION ROLE:

The Senior Stage Manager has direct line responsibility for the organization, preparation, and execution of all stage and ancillary ASO performance-related setups for events on the Woodruff Arts Center Symphony Hall Stage, Rehearsal Hall, Goizueta Stage for Youth & Families, Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, Chastain Park Amphitheatre, and other ASO performance venues, both inside and outside Symphony Hall. This position will work closely with the Director of Production and the Stage Manager to manage production activities and plan related details to ensure that all aspects of ASO productions are well managed and coordinated with Symphony Hall presentations and rental events.

The Senior Stage Manager is the Area Lead of the Production (Stagehand) crew for all programs involving the musicians of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Work Schedule:

* Work hours vary per day, each week, based on production events. This position requires flexibility; nights, weekends, and holidays will be required as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stage and backstage oversight
* Supervise the staging for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra rehearsals and performances, including movement, setup, takedown, and storage of musical instruments, stage properties and stage equipment; design and execution of theatrical and concert lighting; execution or supervision of contractors in the execution of amplified sound and audio-visual equipment.
* Supervise cleaning and maintenance of stages and related/adjacent backstage production and storage areas.
* Maintain or supervise maintenance of lighting, electrical, and mechanical equipment within the walls of Symphony Hall and Rehearsal Hall, including the maintenance of concert, house, and theatrical lighting, sound, and related stage equipment.
* Supervise installation, operation, and strike of rigging equipment. Along with the Director of Production, create and maintain budgets for lighting/audio supplies, instruments, and maintenance; propose schedules for repair and/or capital improvements when necessary.
* Work closely with the Assistant General Manager, Sr. Operations Manager, ASO Personnel, the ASYO Manager, and the ASO Chorus Administrator in determining required rehearsal and performance setups
* Work closely with the Director of Production, Stage Manager and ASH LIVE to coordinate staging needs for all non-orchestra ASO events, including Atlanta Symphony Hall Live events, rentals, run-outs, and collaborations with external presenters
