This role is ideal for students or recent graduates in materials science, chemical engineering, aerospace, or mechanical engineering — as well as trade school students with experience in composites or lab‑based materials work. You’ll play a critical role in manufacturing TPS and supporting testing in clean rooms and at NASA and partner facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and handle thermoset resins and composite reinforcement fabrics
  • Prepare mechanical and thermal test specimens and assist in characterization
  • Support materials testing campaigns at NASA and partner facilities
  • Maintain detailed records of fabrication methods, procedures, and results

  • Hands‑on experience with composites, polymers, or high‑temperature materials preferred
  • Strong safety awareness and lab discipline when working with chemicals and thermal systems
  • Willingness to travel for testing and fieldwork
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a flight‑critical subsystem
