Substation isnpector

The Substation Inspector is responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and documenting the condition of electrical substations to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation. This role supports transmission and distribution reliability by identifying equipment deficiencies, verifying maintenance activities, and ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

• Conduct routine and detailed inspections of substations, including transformers, breakers, switches, relays, control houses, bus structures, and associated equipment.
• Identify and document equipment defects, safety hazards, and maintenance needs.
• Verify that construction, maintenance, and contractor work complies with engineering standards, safety regulations, and applicable codes.
• Review substation drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to confirm field accuracy.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to prioritize and resolve identified issues.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, OSHA, and environmental regulations.

• Experience in substation construction, maintenance, testing, or inspection.
• Working knowledge of high-voltage equipment and substation protection and control systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards (NERC, IEEE, OSHA) and utility best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and construction drawings.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various substation sites.
