Responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic communication systems. The Service Technician installs and services systems efficiently to ensure minimum downtime and maximum performance. The technician communicates system performance to the customer.
Responsibilities- Final hookup and programming of electronics equipment for new jobs
- Respond to customer service‑related issues promptly
- Test and document readings for customer systems
- Update customer files
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic components
- Handle on‑call duties on a regular scheduled basis
- Train and instruct the customer on proper use of the equipment
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- Operate test equipment: volt meter, ohm meter, multimeter, impedance meter
- Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment
- Accurate tracking on time sheets, service/installation tickets and inventory items
- Full compliance with company's and customer's safety program
- Other duties as required or assigned by company management
Systems Technician reports to the Service Manager. Secondary accountability to other management team members, employees and customers.
Qualifications- A two‑year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1–3 years field‑related experience (desirable)
- Working knowledge of communications systems required
- Experience with VoIP, data networks, wireless data, CCTV, sound systems, and nursing call applications preferred
- Minimum:
High school graduate. Basic English proficiency, basic math, read CAD, building blueprints, riser diagrams, basic electronics theory. Proficiency with PC and simple engineering and construction. - Preferred: IT or Computer Programming; NSCA CEST Certification, NICET certification. RCDD and factory training a plus.
Some out‑of‑town trips may be required.

- Some light lifting up to 50 lbs
- Reaching, grasping and carrying activities required
- Noise level usually moderate
- Occasional outdoor activities subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations
