Work Location & ScheduleThis role must be based in Georgia, but offers flexibility based on business needs and may include:
- Hybrid, remote, or regional field‑based work depending on project requirements.
- Site visits to transmission rights‑of‑way, construction zones, and project locations with appropriate PPE provided.
- Occasional travel to client sites, project meetings, and field inspections across the region.
- Develop PLS‑CADD and PLS‑Pole models for both new and existing transmission line designs; experience with PLS‑Tower is a plus.
- Conduct site visits for line inventory, hard‑spot identification, and construction coordination.
- Prepare existing line studies, project cost estimates, material and pole orders, construction bid packages, engineering drawings, and as‑built documentation.
- Collaborate with construction, environmental, real estate, permitting, and geotechnical teams; foundational design exposure is beneficial.
- Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships through consistent and professional communication.
- Provide technical guidance, perform design reviews, and support quality control across project deliverables.
- Assist in proposal development, including cost estimating, scope definition, and scheduling contributions.
- Work closely with other Power Delivery disciplines such as civil/structural, distribution, and substation engineering.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency with PLS software, including PLS‑CADD.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven commitment to safety and customer service.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to enter transmission ROWs and construction sites with appropriate PPE.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Minimum 3+ years of transmission line design engineering experience.
- Prior utility experience, preferably with Southeast U.S. utilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); CAD/drafting experience is a plus.
- Candidates with an E.I.T. or P.E. are encouraged to apply, though it is not required.

- NESC and ASCE design standards
- Field routing, inspection, and construction coordination
- Microsoft Office Suite; drafting/CAD familiarity
- Competitive estimated compensation range: $72,345–$91,300, depending on experience and location.
