Atlanta, GA. Contract- 2 Years. Client:
Southern Gas Co.
Southern Company Gas is seeking a Design Engineer to support the planning, design, and technical development of natural gas infrastructure projects. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs for gas distribution, storage, and fueling station systems.
This is an exciting opportunity for self-motivated engineers who are passionate about energy infrastructure and looking to grow their skills in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design components and functionality for pipeline and gas facility projects
- Support gas storage and fueling station design assignments
- Assist with mechanical equipment maintenance planning and support
- Conduct system balance assessments to identify and resolve system performance issues
- Provide technical oversight and support during construction phases
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or General Engineering
- 1–3 years of progressive engineering experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification
- Project Management capabilities
- Effective communication across all organizational levels
- Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Critical thinking and self-guided problem solving
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Intermediate proficiency in CAD/GIS software tools
