The Electrical VDC Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of virtual design and construction efforts for data center projects. This role oversees electrical modeling, coordination, and constructability efforts while managing VDC staff and collaborating closely with project management, field leadership, engineering, and trade partners. The position plays a critical role in improving constructability, reducing risk, supporting prefabrication, and ensuring efficient field installation on complex, fast-paced data center programs.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage electrical VDC efforts for data center projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Oversee development and coordination of electrical BIM models, clash detection, and constructability reviews
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and engineers to align VDC deliverables with field execution
- Support prefabrication and modular construction through model-driven detailing and standardization
- Establish and enforce electrical VDC standards, workflows, and best practices
- Mentor and develop VDC team members and support continuous process improvement
- 7+ years of experience in electrical VDC/BIM for commercial or mission-critical construction
- Direct experience supporting data center or mission-critical facilities
- Advanced proficiency in Revit (Electrical) and Navisworks Manage
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems and construction sequencing
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across project and field organizations
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field experience preferred
