We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (EIT or PE preferred) with strong experience in power distribution and Revit design to support healthcare and institutional projects including hospitals, medical office buildings, laboratories, and specialty clinics.
This role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer who understands the complexity, reliability, and regulatory requirements of healthcare facilities and enjoys working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary design environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support electrical system design for healthcare and medical facilities
- Design power distribution systems including normal and emergency power, generators, UPS, and critical branch systems
- Produce detailed electrical construction drawings and BIM models using Revit
- Develop single-line diagrams, panel schedules, load calculations, and equipment layouts
- Coordinate electrical systems with architects and MEP disciplines
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 99, NFPA 70, FGI Guidelines, and other healthcare-specific codes
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and construction-phase services
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support field coordination
Mentor junior engineers and designers as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of electrical design experience (healthcare strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in Revit for electrical system modeling and documentation
- Strong experience in power distribution systems
- Working knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Experience designing electrical systems for hospitals, labs, surgical centers, or medical office buildings
- Experience with emergency power systems, generators, and life safety systems
- Experience working within MEP consulting or A/E firms
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and regulatory requirements
