The Company

A national, employee-owned general contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the United States with a portfolio that includes water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, and associated civil works for municipal and public-sector clients.

The Role

We are seeking an Project Director to provide senior leadership across a portfolio of water and wastewater construction projects. This individual will be responsible for overall project performance, client relationships, financial outcomes, and leading project teams.

The Project Director will work closely with executive leadership, operations, and business development teams to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of large, technically complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple water and wastewater projects
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, municipalities, engineers, and key stakeholders
  • Oversee project execution, including schedule, cost, safety, quality, and risk management
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and field leadership
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements
  • Drive financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and change management
  • Support preconstruction and pursuit efforts, including project strategy and risk reviews
  • Promote and reinforce the company’s safety-first culture and employee-owned values
Qualifications
  • 20+ years of experience in water/wastewater construction
  • Proven experience delivering water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, or similar infrastructure projects
  • Prior experience as a Project Director, Senior Project Manager, or equivalent leadership role
  • Strong understanding of public-sector contracting, municipal clients, and regulatory environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing large project budgets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
