Environmental Engineer 1 (2026 Grads!) Environmental Services

CDM Smith is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our Environmental Services team! As part of our team, you’ll perform essential engineering tasks related to remediation sites.

• Reviewing shop drawings
• Developing engineering specifications
• Conducting fieldwork
• Creating designs to meet client project requirements
• Preparing and reviewing remediation documents, including draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations, ensuring that firm policies and practices are followed on all projects
• Conducting site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure projects are aligned with client and location specifications
• Contributing to technical knowledge management (TKM) through white papers and design documentation of new or special case designs and studies
• Collaborating on conference materials like posters or presentations

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Basic knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles of design
• Knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Good verbal and written communication ability

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
