Electrical Engineer (Design Review & Inspections)
Atlanta, GA | Hybrid (1 day remote, 4 days onsite)
Full-Time or Contract-to-Hire
Base Pay Range$90,000.00/yr - $/yr
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a design review and inspection team supporting large-scale public and commercial building projects. This role combines technical invoke with code compliance and field inspections, with a strong focus on fire alarm and life safety systems.
The Electrical Engineer will review and permit electrical plans, perform job completion inspections, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects meet all applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Review electrical and fire alarm designs for new construction and renovation projects
- Evaluate drawings and specifications for compliance with state, federal, and local codes
- Perform 80% and 100% completion inspections for electrical and fire alarm systems
- Review fire alarm shop drawings prepared by licensed contractors
- Prepare written comments, redlines, and inspection reports documenting findings
- Participate in project meetings with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Conduct forensic analyses and building assessments as requested
- Travel statewide for inspections as required
- Maintain required fire inspector credentials (training provided)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
, or actively working toward PE - 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction or design
- Strong knowledge of NEC codes
, building systems, conduit, paneling, and wiring - Experience with voltage drop calculations and ampacity adjustments
- Ability to review construction documents and permit submissions
- Willingness باور complete a paid, 2‑week Fire Inspector certification course
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
- Experience with fire alarm system inspections
- Background working on public or large‑scale institutional projects
- Strong written, verbal, and analytic communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Hybrid schedule (initially onsite full‑time during onboarding)
