WSP is actively seeking a Vice President Civil Roadway Engineer/Project Manager
!

This position will sit out of our Atlanta, GA location.

This Opportunity

This candidate will have to have strong experience in transportation infrastructure projects using Alternative Delivery methods (P3, DB, CM/GC). This role provides situational guidance to PMs and managers that address current and future challenges, and that documentation and recommendations accurately account for and address risk, innovation, and future‑ready opportunities. Provides leadership with ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.

Your Impact

  • Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements and are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements and corporate objectives.
  • Provide coordination with other design disciplines and remote office locations, including:
    Planning, Environmental, Roadway, Structures, Hydraulics/Drainage and Traffic.
  • Collaborate with management to determine long‑range plans and objectives, including recommendations on project staffing, evaluating and mentoring of subordinate staff.
  • Planning, scheduling, and coordinating staffing levels needed for projects.
  • Manage projects and maintain schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects, overseeing preparation of plans, specifications, proposals and RFC packages.
  • Complete ad hoc projects as needs arise.
  • Lead projects with all aspects of Transportation Design from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design.
  • Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
  • Provide Training to Staff‑level Engineers.
  • Coordinating with internal and external clients.
  • Support effective long‑term client/contractor relationships.
  • Represent WSP's alternative delivery capabilities in assigned locations, markets, and at industry associations as appropriate.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 12+ years of relevant post‑education experience in engineering, civil and infrastructure design.
  • Engineer license required (multi‑state preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency with civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work‑related issues.
  • Advanced proficiency with infrastructure design.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, Deere related, and the business impact upon the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency with making technical computations and calculations involving the application

    Physical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
  • Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid‑level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, regulators, and company‑wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits.
  • Advanced proficiency with office automation, discipline‑specific design software (i Equipo Iluminous i..., etc.)
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
