Job SummaryThe Research Information Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced research systems and solutions. This role involves engineering systems and automation, providing technical support, and ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of research systems and applications. This role collaborates with cross‑functional teams to optimize research processes and support the organization’s research objectives.
Responsibilities- Participate in the design, installation, and testing of systems and components.
- Develop engineering project schedules, plans, and specifications for systems and components.
- Conduct analyses of system performance and prescribe corrective action where required.
- Troubleshoot systems; may involve calibration and repair work.
- Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and other documentation associated with components and systems.
- Provide input to and administer project engineering budgets.
- Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.
- Participate in project reviews for conformance to quality standards and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other required qualifications:
This is a temporary position, limited to 1300 hours or 12 consecutive months, and subject to ACA and GT guidelines for temporary employment.
Up to two years of job‑related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Jamf for MacOS Management.
- Exposure to Linux and Windows support and scripting.
- Experience managing datacenters.
