Senior Structural Engineer - Bridge​/Transportation

VHB’s structural engineering group drives connectivity through complex bridge and interchange designs, rehabilitation, inspection, and pedestrian walkways. VHB is expanding in the Southeast and seeks a Senior Structural Engineer in Atlanta, GA to lead technical planning, design, detailing, and mentoring of the structural team.

• Lead structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare construction documents, plans, specifications, estimates, and calculation packages.
• Mentor and provide technical support to structural engineering staff.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of construction documents and engineering reports.
• Assist in qualification packages, proposals, and technical contracts.
• Manage project deliverables and timelines.
• Review fabrication drawings and construction plans.

• 8‑11 years of structural bridge/transportation design experience.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering required; master’s preferred.
• PE license required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Experience with AASHTO, GDOT, local municipalities, and state DOT standards.
• Proficiency in structural design software such as Mathcad, FB‑Multi Pier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare, MDX, SP Column, Merlin
  
  DASH, GDOT Structures Design Programs.
• Model‑based design experience with Bentley Open Bridge, Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, Infraworks, Inventor.
