We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of electric transmission line and substation projects. This role will be responsible for managing civil site design efforts, coordinating with design consultants, and ensuring compliance with grading, drainage, erosion control, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings a strong civil design background, experience working in a CAD environment, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
This position is primarily office‑based with occasional statewide site visits and offers a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil engineering projects and coordinate with internal teams and external design consultants related to grading, erosion control, drainage, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform or facilitate civil site design in a CAD environment to support transmission line and substation projects.
- Support surveying, mapping, design, and construction activities for electric transmission lines and substations.
- Review design deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable standards, permits, and regulations.
- Conduct on‑site inspections across the state as needed to support project execution and verify construction compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to meet project schedules and deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil site design.
- Proficiency with CADD software;
AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred. - Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience with stormwater management and erosion & sedimentation control.
- Project management experience coordinating multiple projects and design consultants.
- Knowledge of Georgia Erosion & Sedimentation Control, Stormwater Management, and NPDES permit requirements.
- Surveying and mapping experience.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
