Project Manager - Water Design Build
Jacobs is looking for a dedicated Project Manager to lead water and wastewater design‑build projects across the U.S. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality projects on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Your impactSupport our Design‑Build water clients across the U.S. and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. You will lead project teams, engage with clients and partners, promote growth in the local marketplace, and support business development by pursuing and winning projects.
Responsibilities- Responsible for overall project delivery (cost, schedule, quality, information, contracts) on one or multiple project assignments.
- Implement the Design‑Build process, including alternatives, cost estimating, risk quantifications, supply chain selection, project budgets, schedules and other commercial aspects (quality control, procurement, commissioning, startup, closeout).
- Manage project development from conception through completion (large and small) in accordance with program objectives.
- Manage budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction contracts, documents, procedures and controls for assigned projects.
- Review and approve consultant invoices, contractor pay applications and change orders; coordinate with Control Manager for reporting.
- Attend assigned meetings, cover weekly progress meetings, issue minutes during design phase.
- Resolve complex construction‑related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
- Review status and monitor variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills; client‑facing responsibilities.
- Multitask and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline OR 15+ years of experience in the field in lieu of a degree.
- Ten+ years of experience in Design‑Build for water, wastewater, water resources and/or conveyance type work.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect license/certification is preferred.
- Willingness to travel.
- Physical and environmental demands include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility; ability to climb, stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach and perform repetitive hand movements. Work areas may be indoor, outdoor, high‑pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights, depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases and chemicals typical of the industry.
