What will you do

The Fire Inspection Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance across a range of systems including fire alarms, security, low‑voltage electrical, emergency communication, and sprinkler systems. Key responsibilities include reviewing inspection findings, preparing detailed audit reports with recommendations, maintaining records, and sometimes coordinating with local inspection teams to address compliance issues. This role requires expert‑level knowledge of NFPA Standards as well as interpreting blueprints, submittals, and product manuals.

The Compliance Manager will provide training and guidance to inspectors and trainees, conduct inspection audits both on site and remote, and evaluate district performance to drive improvements in Deficiency Find Rates, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Fire Inspection Compliance Manager will maintain compliance with safety standards while balancing operational efficiency and financial objectives.

How you will do it
  • Examine and verify the accuracy and completeness of fire alarm and sprinkler inspection and test reports submitted by inspectors.
  • Work with local inspection teams and Systems Integrity Representative in reviewing deficiency inspection reports.
  • Confirm that all inspections and tests were performed according to relevant standards, such as those from the NFPA, and all local codes.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports that summarize the findings, identify any deficiencies or non‑compliance issues, and provide clear recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Ensure inspectors are correctly completing Inspection Reports with documentation through communicative devices, such as laptop computers and/or handheld devices.
  • Discuss findings with local office and inspectors, to ensure a clear understanding of compliance status and necessary improvements.
  • Facilitate on‑going training to all inspection personnel.
  • Prepare monthly awareness training literature by product group.
  • Perform on‑site and remote inspections to verify compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and follow‑up actions.
  • Provide inspection results and interpretations of codes and standards to local offices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain violations, write detailed reports, and interact tactfully with the local office and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct audits of inspection reports to evaluate compliance with codes and standards and identify areas for improvement.
What we look for Required
  • Two‑year associate degree in a technical field, such as electronics, or equivalent experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A meticulous approach is necessary for reviewing reports and identifying discrepancies or potential hazards.
