Structural Engineer 3 - Nuclear

Work Location: Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office at the Sargent & Lundy office in Peachtree Corners, GA; remaining days remote.
This position is an exciting mid‑level opportunity within Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group. As a Structural Engineer you will support advanced technology projects, collaborate with top industry professionals, and contribute to the advancement of safe and reliable nuclear power generation. You will be involved in the design of new nuclear facilities—including Small Modular Reactors, Advanced Reactors, and Medical Isotope Facilities—as well as upgrades to operating nuclear plants, and you will mentor less experienced team members.
Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
- Work on a wide range of projects for various clients.
- Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, and collaborate with designers on drawing development.
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using state‑of‑the‑art computer tools.
- Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews; visit plant sites for construction coordination and field verification of designs.
- BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- 3+ years of experience in design and analysis of structures, including AISC steel and ACI concrete designs.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP
2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS. - Experience with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- MS in Civil Engineering.
- Experience with design and analysis of power‑plant or industrial structures.
- On‑site construction support experience.
- PE or SE license.

Compensation Range: $72,690.00 – $ (base salary)
