We are seeking a National Wastewater Treatment Lead to join our team. This role can be located based out of one of our HUB office locations, including Atlanta, GA;
Orlando, FL;
Henderson, NV;
Austin, TX;
Houston, TX; or Alexandria, VA. This is a hybrid role (combination of remote and in‑office work). The individual will serve as the national technical leader for wastewater treatment projects, focusing on project management and technical leadership on major municipal wastewater projects across the U.S.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver system/facility planning, process optimization, and engineering for conventional and advanced wastewater treatment facilities, solids handling/biosolids facilities, effluent conversion to potable water, and related regulatory advisory services.
- Provide technical leadership on and strategic initiatives, mentor wastewater treatment engineers.
- Establish technical criteria for wastewater treatment projects and provide input to project managers and team members.
- Conduct quality control checks, review calculations, designs, evaluations, and specifications for accuracy and completeness; perform site inspections and oversee remedial design work.
- Design and direct complex research efforts within wastewater treatment, define scope and budget of projects, and execute project assignments.
- Assist in project review audits, develop novel approaches to technical problems.
- Develop exhibits, abstracts, presentations, and technical papers for clients and internal staff; present at technical conferences.
- Coordinate with project leads to identify staffing needs and recruitment opportunities in technical specialty areas.
- Participate in the recruitment, screening, and orientation of qualified candidates for key vacancies within the wastewater treatment field; perform other duties as assigned by the National Water Infrastructure Technical Director.
- M.S. in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering from an ABET‑accredited program;
Ph.D. with emphasis on biological wastewater treatment preferred. - Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one state; ability to obtain licensure in other states within six months if required.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive technical design experience within the consulting industry.
- Experience with biological process modeling and simulation software and operational troubleshooting.
- Experience and interest in pursuing leadership opportunities within professional associations.
- Experience with research grants related to biological wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
- Ability to give presentations for clients and professional organizations; active participation with organizations such as the Water Environment Federation.
- Excellent speaking, presenting, and writing skills; willing to travel locally and nationally.
- Proven interpersonal, public speaking, and persuasive skills; thrives in a team environment.
- Recognition as an industry leader with publication record and conference presentation experience a plus.
- Strong technical background and experience in wastewater treatment facilities.

Expected compensation range is between $150,000 – $175,000 annually or $72.00 – $84.00 hourly, depending on skills, experience, and geographic location.
